Biography
Marisa Peters is an author, producer, public speaker and vocalist. As the founder of BE SEEN, a media company and foundation, she is dedicated to amplifying women's health initiatives, self-care and wellbeing with a focus on raising awareness around young onset cancers. A Stage 3 Rectal Cancer Survivor herself, Marisa runs the BE SEEN Foundation on a mission to eradicate death by colorectal cancer through financial support for awareness, access and preventative treatment. Marisa has been featured in The NY Times, Today, Daily Mail, US News & World Report, appeared on NBC's Kelly Clarkson Show, ABC, NBC, FOX and authored pieces for Katie Couric Media, Ms. Magazine, The Mother Chapter, Energy Magazine, Voyage LA and more. She is back singing again for The Dodgers, The Angeles, PGA's Cologuard Classic, Call On Congress to F!ghtCRC and other prominent venues. She serves as an ambassador for UCLAHealth with The LA Lakers and The LA Chargers.
A former Broadway vocalist and national anthem singer for professional sports teams including the MLB, NFL and NHL. She then spent time in boardrooms as a Chief People Officer fighting for justice, equality and the full potential of people and organizations. She has received awards and honors including the Sony HR Compass Award for Innovation among all global Sony businesses, the #1 Best Place To Work by AdAge and graduated with Honors from The University of Michigan.
Marisa is most proud of being a mother to three growing boys alongside her husband, Josh, all living in Los Angeles.
